Core Curriculum

Science
Through hands-on experiments and investigations, students develop a deep understanding of the natural world. Our developmentally appropriate lessons explore physics, biology, chemistry, geology, and more—building scientific thinking, observation, and inquiry skills as children make sense of the world around them.
Language Arts
Language Arts is the foundation for understanding ideas and expressing thoughts with clarity and confidence. Our phonics-first approach builds strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills from the earliest years. A clear K-5 roadmap guides students to reach or exceed fifth-grade proficiency before they transition from Grass Roots.

Mathematics
We present math as the language of reasoning. Students build essential skills in logical thinking, spatial awareness, and problem-solving as they progress through a structured K-5 curriculum—from foundational counting and number sense all the way to geometry, fractions, and multi-step problem solving.

Social Studies
Social Studies explores the foundations of our society and the wider world. Students begin with their local community and progress to a deeper understanding of governance, history, and civic life—building the knowledge and skills essential for thoughtful, informed citizenship.
Extracurricular
Art
Art is expressed in many forms—through dance, painting, creative play, and writing. We nurture each child’s individuality by encouraging freedom of artistic expression and creative exploration.
Spanish
Learning another language strengthens young minds by building cognitive flexibility, creativity, and communication skills. We naturally integrate Spanish into circle time and daily activities.
Physical Education
Physical fitness supports both physical and mental well-being. We prioritize daily outdoor time and hands-on learning to keep students active, engaged, and thriving every day.
Music
Music is the beautiful balance between structure and creativity. We integrate music throughout daily learning to nurture rhythm, expression, and joyful discovery in our students.
